In The Incredible Hulk, Bruce Banner leads a quiet life in Brazil, hiding from his past and the uncontrollable rage that turns him into the Hulk. After being discovered by the military, he is forced to return to the U.S. to find a cure. Along the way, he reunites with his former love, Betty Ross, and works with a scientist, Dr. Samuel Sterns, in hopes of suppressing his transformation. Meanwhile, General Ross creates a monster, Emil Blonsky, who becomes the Abomination after undergoing an experimental serum. The Abomination wreaks havoc on New York, and Bruce, now fully embracing his Hulk form, battles the creature in a destructive showdown to protect the city. Despite his victory, Bruce remains uncertain about his place in a world that both fears and needs him, setting the stage for his ongoing struggle.
