In The Incredible Hulk, Bruce Banner lives a quiet life in Brazil, hiding from his past and the uncontrollable rage that transforms him into the Hulk. After being discovered by the military, he is forced to return to the United States to find a cure. Along the way, he reunites with his former love, Betty Ross, and works with scientist Dr. Samuel Sterns in hopes of reversing his transformation. Meanwhile, General Ross creates a monster, Emil Blonsky, who becomes the Abomination after being subjected to an experimental serum. The Abomination wreaks havoc on New York City, and Bruce, now fully embracing his Hulk form, confronts the creature in a destructive showdown to protect the city. Despite his victory, Bruce remains unsure of his place in a world that fears and needs him, setting the stage for his continued struggle.
