Dichter und ihre Gesellen

Joseph von Eichendorff

Eichendorff’s novel follows the young Fortunat through German landscapes, castles, and artistic circles as far as Rome. Around him unfold the intertwined paths of Walter, Otto, Fiametta, and other poets, actors, and outsiders. Through songs, encounters, and shifting masks, the book asks how poetry relates to everyday life, freedom to commitment, and love to faith.
