Der Ursprung der Gürteltiere

Rudyard Kipling

This volume gathers twelve of Kipling’s playful origin tales. They imagine how a resourceful hedgehog and tortoise became armadillos, how the rhinoceros, leopard, camel, and elephant acquired their features, and also tell of the independent cat, the invention of the alphabet, and the first letter. Wordplay and an intimate storytelling voice shape the collection.
