Geld

David McWilliams

Money is not value itself, but a social contract supported by trust. From barter to coins, paper, and banks to digital wallets, each step made trade easier but continued to rely on trust in systems and rules. Banks create credit, governments and central banks maintain stability, and crises demonstrate how fragile trust can be. Inequality grows when money rewards old assets more than new efforts, while technology gives rise to new forms such as cryptocurrencies and digital currencies. Throughout all of this, the rule remains the same: without trust, money is just paper or numbers.
