The best food is not always in restaurants. Sometimes it is on the street! Street food is cheap, fast and delicious. Let's visit five cities and try their favorite street food.

Bangkok, Thailand: Pad Thai

In Bangkok, you can smell street food everywhere. A favorite dish is pad thai: rice noodles with egg, tofu or shrimp, peanuts and lime. The cook makes it in front of you in a big hot pan.

Mumbai, India: Vada Pav

People call vada pav "the burger of Mumbai". It is a hot potato ball in a soft bread roll, with a spicy green sauce and a sweet sauce. It is very cheap, and many workers eat it for lunch.

Seoul, South Korea: Tteokbokki

Tteokbokki are soft rice cakes in a red sauce. The sauce is spicy and a little sweet. You can buy them at small street stalls, often with fish cakes and a boiled egg.

Berlin, Germany: Currywurst

Currywurst is a sausage cut into pieces, with ketchup and curry powder on top. It was first sold in Berlin in 1949. Today, people in Germany eat about 800 million currywursts every year!

Mexico City, Mexico: Tacos al Pastor

Tacos al pastor are small corn tortillas with pork, pineapple, onion and cilantro. The cooks make the meat on a big turning stick, like a kebab. This idea came from Lebanese people who moved to Mexico.

When you travel, try the local street food. It is a cheap and tasty way to learn about a city!
