Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp

Philip Pullman

In a bustling city in ancient China, Aladdin, a poor but adventurous youth, encounters a mysterious magician claiming to be his long-lost uncle. This so-called uncle convinces Aladdin to retrieve a magical lamp from a secret cave, promising riches and fortune. Inside the cave, Aladdin finds the lamp and, against instructions, also collects some of the cave's treasures. When he tries to leave, the magician, revealing his true motives, traps Aladdin inside, wanting the magical lamp for himself. However, Aladdin, using the lamp, accidentally summons a genie who grants him three wishes. With the genie's help, Aladdin escapes the cave, becomes rich and powerful, and marries Princess Jasmine. The magician returns to steal the lamp, but Aladdin, with the genie's assistance, thwarts his plans and ultimately decides to free the genie, solidifying his own legacy as a wise and just leader. Aladdin's journey from obscurity to prosperity, guided by courage and wisdom, becomes legendary, inspiring future generations.
