Blumfeld

Franz Kafka

This unfinished story follows the older bachelor Blumfeld. At home, two inexplicably bouncing balls disturb his solitude; at the linen factory, he tries to direct two inept trainees. Its absurd comedy links routine, authority, isolation, and the need for control.
