La Curée is a novel by Émile Zola published in 1872, second volume of the series Les Rougon-Macquart. The main character is Aristide Rougon, known as Saccard, who will make a quick fortune by speculating on future building land at the time of the major works carried out in Paris by Baron Haussmann.
