Château hanté

Maurice Renard

Doctor B. goes to the castle of Sirvoise, called by the Duke of Castièvre who asks him to devote some time to him to provide him with care and attention. Upon his arrival, he realizes that the Duke is not in his usual state. The latter confesses to him that he bought the castle for a song, under the pretext that it was haunted, but since then, people have accused him of having set up this fable. To cheer up the Duke, our doctor suggests organizing a costume ball at the castle. During the ball, our Duke disguised as Charles Quint harangues the equestrian statue of François Ier which comes to life. But is it really Monsieur de Rocroy, the fiancé of the sister of the Duchess of Castièvres, who is in the armor?...
