Incidents Autour de la Maison

Josh Malerman

Josh Malerman’s Incidents Around the House is a gripping psychological suspense story about a seemingly ordinary home that transforms into a place of increasing fear and mystery. The protagonist and his family, initially living a peaceful and secure life, begin to experience strange and unexplained events—disappearing objects, flickering lights, and eerie shadows—that disrupt their sense of security. As events escalate, the protagonist’s search for answers uncovers the house’s dark history, raising troubling questions about its true nature. The story explores themes of fear, perception, and the fragility of security, culminating in the family’s escape from the house and leaving lingering questions about the unknown. Malerman masterfully blurs the line between reality and terror, leaving readers questioning the true nature of fear and home.
