Die Tribute von Panem

Suzanne Collins

In District 12, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her sister Prim's place in the deadly Hunger Games. She and Peeta Mellark travel to the capital, navigating luxury and forming a strategic alliance. At the training center, they impress the Gamemakers and play up a romantic role for public support. In the arena, Katniss uses her survival skills to stay alive, forms a bond with Rue, and struggles with betrayal and loss. A rule change allows for two winners, and Katniss finds and nurses Peeta back to health. In the final showdown, they defy the Capitol's rules by threatening mutual suicide with poisonous berries, forcing the Capitol to declare them both victors. Back home, they confront the reality of their rebellion and understand that their actions have sparked a potential rebellion against the Capitol's tyranny.3.5
