Harry Potter spends a miserable summer at the Dursleys'. On his birthday, a house elf named Dobby appears and warns him not to return to Hogwarts. Despite Dobby's efforts to keep him away by intercepting letters and causing chaos, Harry is determined to go back. His friend Ron and his brothers rescue him in their flying car and take him to their home, the Burrow, where Harry enjoys a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Later, Harry, the Weasleys, and Hermione head to Diagon Alley for school supplies, where Harry meets Draco Malfoy and his father Lucius. Harry accidentally ends up with a mysterious diary that holds more than it seems. Despite various warnings and strange incidents, Harry is determined to return to Hogwarts for another school year.
