In Albuquerque, New Mexico, high school chemistry teacher Walter White's life takes a drastic turn when he is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Facing financial difficulties and a need to secure his family's future, Walter partners with his former student Jesse Pinkman to manufacture and sell methamphetamine. Despite initial success in producing a high-quality product, their involvement in the drug trade quickly becomes dangerous. They encounter dangerous individuals such as Krazy-8 and Tuco Salamanca, leading to violent confrontations and moral dilemmas. As Walter adopts the alias "Heisenberg" and becomes ever more entangled in his criminal activities, he struggles to maintain his double life and keep his secrets hidden from his suspicious wife Skyler. The season culminates with Walter fully embracing his new identity and determined to continue down his dark path to provide for his family, no matter the cost.
