Frank Bryce catches Voldemort and Bagman plotting Harry's death in Riddle House and is killed. Harry wakes up at the Dursleys' with his scar burning. He joins the Weasleys for the Quidditch World Cup, disrupted by Death Eaters and the Dark Mark. At Hogwarts, Harry is unexpectedly chosen as the fourth champion of the Triwizard Tournament. He faces dangerous tasks, showing bravery and integrity despite Ron's jealousy. The Yule Ball strains friendships, particularly between Hermione and Ron. In the final task, Harry and Cedric are transported to a graveyard where Voldemort returns, kills Cedric, and Harry escapes to warn everyone. The year ends sadly with a memorial for Cedric, and Harry prepares for the battle against Voldemort's growing power.
