Iron Man

Mark Fergus

The story of Iron Man follows the transformation of a wealthy and charismatic weapons manufacturer into a self-made hero. After being captured by terrorists in Afghanistan, Tony Stark is forced to build a weapon for them, but instead creates a powerful suit of armor to escape. With the help of his cellmate, Yinsen, he builds a life-saving arc reactor to power the suit and fight his way to freedom. Returning home, Stark shuts down his weapons company, realizing the damage his creations have done, and devotes himself to creating a suit to protect others. However, his former business partner, Obadiah Stane, betrays him and builds his own weaponized suit, leading to a final showdown. Stark defeats Stane and cements his role as a hero, accepting the responsibility to use his intelligence and resources for the greater good. This marks the beginning of his journey as Iron Man.
