Debt-ridden Seong Gi-hun accepts an invitation to play deadly children's games for a huge sum of money. Joining 455 others on a remote island, the first game, "One, Two, Three, Sun," reveals the deadly stakes. Despite a vote to leave, many, driven by desperation, return. Gi-hun forms alliances but faces betrayal in games like "Tug of War" and "Marbles." The arrival of VIPs exposes the games as a spectacle for the wealthy. Gi-hun survives the deadly challenges, eventually facing his childhood friend, Sang-woo, in the final game. Gi-hun wins but is haunted by trauma and loss. A year later, he discovers the games are still going on and vows to stop them, launching a mission to dismantle the sinister organization behind them.
